One of the biggest events WPMCA hosts for its members is our annual
Legislative Conference. Each year, WPMCA members come to Madison for a
day to learn about key legislative issues, proposed bills and
governmental policies impacting our industry. Armed with background
materials and the facts, our members then meet their local lawmakers
over at the state capitol. Member involvement and relationships with
legislators has been an ongoing key to the success of our Association
and critical to legislative victories at the capitol.
Preliminary Agenda
This year we will once again convene at Monona Terrace, Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic community and convention center overlooking Lake Monona. WPMCA will host in-depth briefings and presentations on critical issues to discuss with your legislators. After lunch, we will proceed three blocks up MLK Blvd. to the State Captol to meet face-to-face with your representatives and senators. Finally, after a busy day at the Capitol, please join us for dinner at the Governor's Executive Residence on the shores of Lake Mendota.
- 8:00 AM - Registration and continental breakfast, Monona Terrace
- 8:35 AM - Legislative briefings and presentations
- 11:45 AM - Lunch provided
- 1:00 PM - Legislative visits at the State Capitol
- 4:30 PM - Reception at the Governor's Executive Residence
How to Attend
There are two ways to register for the 2012 Legislative Conference:
- Register online using your WPMCA.org personal account, or
- Print the registration form and mail or fax it to WPMCA
If you do not know your WPMCA.org login info, contact Christopher Luther at (888) 856-7555 or luther@wpmca.org.
Please register by January 11, 2012! We need plenty of time to schedule your meetings at the Capitol. If you register late, it is very unlikely that you will be able to meet with your preferred legislators.
You will need to know who your legislators are before you register. Click here to find your legislators!
If this is your first time attending the WPMCA Legislative Conference, you can request a WPMCA mentor to show you the ropes!
